The Power of Makeup!

Hello Girls! I am back with yet another post for you guys! This post is something more on the make-up related section yet defines the simplest of look you can carry for this season. This look is for highly summerish weather where all you need is to be comfortable in your clothing. So, before I start up with my post I would love to give you guys a small heads up to the main person behind this simple yet sassy look!

Yes Girls, The magician behind my all so lovely look is Sakshi Tejpaul! I can say that I was very fortunate to work with this MAC PRO-MAKEUP ARTIST <3
She flew down all the way from Doha for her work related tour and did this collaboration which was something I never imagined!
She is one of the finest make up artists from MAC Doha and has a life changing attitude towards her passionate career. Talking to her about the 'POWER OF MAKE-UP' was one hell of an experience. She has motivated me to such an extent that now I no more feel insecure about myself be it my body, skin, height or anything that will ever bring me down! She has this beautiful way of doing the make-up and doesn't make it look that complicated as it looks. She also explained each and every step while doing the make-up also giving me reasons to why the product was used there at that moment. I am in love with her :p as well as her techniques! Here is a picture of this gorgeous lady in one for her off-beat make-up shoot! BOLD and BEAUTIFUL isn't it? <3

According to me: Make-up is the layer of confidence. If something can make you confident and happy there is nothing wrong in doing it. It's an ART, art of colours! A field of expirements. An art of gaining self appreciation, makes you feel beautiful not only from the outside but also the inside! Use it as a gift and not a tool to hide your inner self. Enhance yourself and be you, with a tiny pinch of makeup! Because a little make-up never hurts ;)

Because we believe in less is more, we came up with extremely achievable look to give you a fresh dewy glowing makeup.
As a primer we used Aloevera gel which will not only hydrate your skin but will also keep it in place for hours.
We used Mac studio finish concealer which was used to cover all the minor darkness on the face followed by a concealer above it.
BB cream was used concentrated on the centre of the face and was blended out downwards in the direction of the facial hair.
Then the Concealer was also used above the eye lid as a base for the eyeshadow too.
A matte dark brown eye shadow was used to contour the eye  and to create warmth a velvet finish shadow was used on the rest of the eye lid with the face highlighter in the inner corner of the eye to make it pop and look bright.
The same matte brown eyeshadow can be used to contour the cheek bones, nose and jaw line with a neutral colour blush on the apples of the cheek.

If u have a neutral shimmering eyeshadow you can also use it on the high points of your face like cheek bones, bridge of the nose, Cupid bow and the brow bone as a highlighter to get that gorgeous glow.
We used it over our highlighter to get that highlight that shines brighter than the sun.
On the lips we used a nude shade called Velvet teddy and to give it defination and lined it with spice lip liner.
We used demi wispies from Ardel for lashes with Duo glue which is by far the best lash glue ever I have come across.

Here are some closeups from the heavenly done make-up <3

About the outfit, I went for a very subtle boho look as to compliment my make-up. I used a mens tee-shirt and paired it up with my trusted pair of long black palazzos. I tied a knot to the tee to make it look more boho and feminine. Along with the outfit I took my nude sling and did some layering on with my choker. Keeping the accessories minimal and letting the hand cuff be the statement piece I went with freezy beach curls and black heels.

Layer it up!

Hola! So how is 2017 treating you guys? My January has been going really well yet hectic. I have been thinking about a lot of stuff for you guys but my watch says a big NO! Because hell ya, No time! But no worries I have decided I won't give up on what I have made and continue going forward
however and whenever I can.

What is winter without wearing a leather jacket even once? What is winter without greys and blacks? What is winter without boots? It's boring! As you all know winter in Mumbai is not likely to be a serious winter always as the sun and it's heat has it's game going strong all 365 days of the year. So, I planned to do a semi- casual brunch look for you guys. Wanna see more? Scroll down then...

As you can see I have paired up my trusted pair of black jeans with my beige boots, grey shrug top and my yellow leather jacket. Now you guys must have thought why did I put up a long shrug top with a jacket because winters are all about layering and covering. Keeping the winter styling aspect in  mind I have created this look. For my makeup I went for my basic kitten winged liner and a basic maroon lippy. Last I added my white glares and flower choker and we are good to go!

Winter is here!!

Helloooooo Girls! My favorite season is here now, WINTER! Oh my god, cold weather, big soft blankets, curling yourself, hot coffee dates, hot chocolates, tasty soups, no waxing, long sweaters and hoodies and garam pakodas *_* But with all this comes dry skin and with that comes great responsibilities. So, I will be telling you people about some Season essentials needed for a dry-free, moisturized and healthy skin!

So, I thought rather than shooting with all the products I would go for just giving detailed information about how an average Indian girl should go about this winter. Without any further due let's begin..

#1
The face and body wash

These are the products I have been using since a while for my dry winter skin. So the question rises, Why not to use a soap this season? Soap makes your skin dry and does not give the proper amount of moisture, where as foaming face washes such as Attitude from Amway, Medimix with Aloe Vera vitamins, Clean and clear and body washes like Nivea or Forest essentials etc. give smoothness to your skin and make it less dry. You get level one of body Moisturization.

#2
Moisturizing Cream

After the wash the first thing we need to do is the main moisturizing of the skin with both our face and body lotions. Do not apply a body lotion on your face because it can go hard on your skin, as our facial skin layer is comparatively more delicate than our body. Choose the correct winter lotion for your self that will keep your skin hydrated the whole day and won't let your skin tear-off. And if this happens then it's surely the high time for you to go change your cream. I use Colorbar Illuminating Lotion for the face and Aveeno Active Naturals for my body.

#3
Primer

As you all aware of the fact that primers are our hero! Primers are really necessary for this season as it is needed to keep our makeup intact the whole day. It will keep our skin hydrated too. I have been using Colorbar Perfect match Primer for around a year or so and find it very effective. A big thumbs up for Colorbar!

#4
BB Cream

My go to make up look for college starts with applying BB cream on my face which works both like a foundation and a cream. I prefer not applying a lot of foundation and concealer, It's like not my daily thing. I prefer using the Pond's BB cream with SPF 30 PA ++

#5
Lip Cream

Lips are the most delicate part of our face. And for this soft part a special application of creams is needed. Always apply lip balms whenever you get time or when ever you feel that your lips have become too dry. Remember before applying any kind of lipcolour on the lips apply your lip balm be it a matte lipstick or a glossy one. Apply ghee to your lips every night before sleeping for natural pink lip trick!

#6
Moisturizing Milk

Cleansing Milk is a super essential product this winter. You can use it for removing make up or apply it on face and massage for 10 minutes before taking a bath. It gives you pre-moisturized skin before bath. I use Himalaya Herbals Cleansing Milk, I think it's the best!!

#7
Hair Care

Many of you guys ask me about my hair care routine and all, The routine is very very simple! Oil your hair twice a week with any oil which you prefer. I prefer INDULEKHA Oil. Massage your skalp properly and then wash it with shampoo your choice. For shampoos I prefer Loreal and Forest essentials. Do not forget to use conditioner after your shampoo as it will keep your hair soft and smooth. After your hair wash you should probably use a hair serum to keep your hair frizz free and make it look healthy the whole day!

Hope you guys found this post helpful <3 Will catch up with you guys soon, see you until next time!

Get wedding ready!

Hello Lovely Ladies! Are you planning to attend a wedding lately? And you don't want to buy a new dress just for a single wedding? Then here is a very quick trendy trick this wedding season. For that the wedding essentials should be kept in mind. This one of the wedding looks I opted for and therefore I am sharing it with you guys. So, let's begin with a elegant wedding or a reception look!

For the girls who don't like those heavy weight Anarkalis or Sarees this is the most comfortable look you can ever go for. No flaws, no problems. I have paired up a simple royal blue kurta with a traditional bordered dupatta and plain beige bottoms. You guys can take any of your plain coloured kurta, get a suitable duppatta and flaunt it! According to me,This is our usual traditional go to look. If your kurta is a heavy worked one then you guys should probably go for a plain contrast coloured duppatta any which ways you guys feel comfy in!

Now when you say 'Shadi' then the first question in every female's mind is, What will I wear? :p With that comes the Jewellery, makeup, hairdo etc. We girls kind off don't want to be over accessorized on any kind of look may it be traditional or a western outfit! So, on this traditional wear I have paired up a single statement jewellery that is my heavy look earring. With that I have kept my eye makeup and lips bold with a black bindi which is always a yay!

Details:
Kurta: Soch
Duppatta: Material from Thailand
Beige bottoms: Max

Hope you guys enjoyed reading through this post! Rock this wedding season with the simplest yet elegant look :) See you until next time!

Diwali Look Book!

The Dhanteras Look!

Hello Girls!! So how are your Diwali preparations going on so far or rather I should ask have you decided your outfits? :p I guess many of you guys haven't done that yet so let me help you with this. Diwali is one of the most awaited festival of the year. It is celebrated in five consecutive days which consists of Dhanteras which is two days before Diwali, Bhai dooj which is two days after Diwali and the main day of Diwali that is the Lakshmi Pujan. So, I will be showing you guys some looks that I found comfortable yet beautiful for the festival of lights. Let's get started!

Click Credits: Sakshi Raut

So, This the look I thought was relevant for the occasion of Dhanteras which is celebrated two days before the main day. I have gone for a Maharashtrian look with a plain marsala colour  a-lined kurta and a worked duppatta. You always don't have to have a full designed traditional suit but can buy different pieces and pair them up together. As you can see I have used old school marathi ornaments which consists of: Nosering which is called the 'Nath' (Every marathi girl can relate to the beauty of this nosering), then the three layered necklace which is called as the 'Mohan Maal' (gives the royal look) , then the smaller necklace is called the 'Kolhapuri Saaz' which is a necklace that is worn right on your neck like a choker ( but I have extended it to match the level of the three layered necklace) and the last one is a simple earring which I have worn to complete my look and yes ofcourse ditching my bangles.

I have gone for a heavy makeup with a winged liner and added a little blue to the corners. Made a half moon bindi which is the traditional Marathi teeka. And worn the matte me pink lipstick to balance the whole look. Kept my hair simple because who will want look over dressed!

Details:
Kurta: Shoppers Stop (Biba)
Duppatta: Mom's Wardrobe :p
Ornaments: My family treasure xD
Earrings: Globus

So this how the complete Dhanteras outfit looks like <3 Hope you enjoyed reading this post. See you until next time! Much love, xoxo.
